Pitchside
One thumb on the touchline.
Big buttons, no laptop and no second person. Tag shots, goals, corners and free kicks as they happen, with the player and where on the pitch. In a hurry? Log it now and add the spot later.
Grassroots football · Club pilot 2026/27
Tag the match live from the touchline with one thumb. The dugout and parents follow it on their own phones, the match report is ready at the final whistle, and the season adds up.
The problem
At grassroots level the match lives in memory and the group chat. Coaches guess at what happened, parents ask how it went, and nothing gets written down. Pitchside gives you the record without a laptop or a second person.
How it works
Pitchside is the core of PitchVue. Everything you tag on the touchline feeds the live view, the match report and the season dashboard, using the same squad list, so nobody types a name twice.
Pitchside
Big buttons, no laptop and no second person. Tag shots, goals, corners and free kicks as they happen, with the player and where on the pitch. In a hurry? Log it now and add the spot later.
Live view
The manager in the dugout, the coach on the far side and parents who couldn't make it all follow the match on their own phones. Score and scorers, shots, corners, a live shot map and the timeline, updating a second or two after each tag. It's read-only, so nobody logs a goal by accident.
Match report
Shot maps, key moments and match numbers in your club's colours, ready at full time for players and parents. Send it as a link, save it as a PDF straight from your phone, or make a share card for the club's socials with your sponsor on it. PitchVue can also write a short match summary from the tags, clearly labelled as written by AI.
Season dashboard
Record, form and when your goals come, plus minutes, goals and assists for every player. Filter by competition, home or away, or the last five games. It's built from the same tags as your reports, so the numbers always match.
What you track
IncludedEach team picks what it tags. An U9 side might track just scorers, an U14 side shots, corners and cards, and a senior side everything including xG and possession. Teams that don't keep results can hide the score, so the app and the report show "Home v Away". Only the buttons you need appear on the touchline.
Squad and fixtures
IncludedAdd your players and matches once, so Pitchside knows who's on the pitch and every report lands against the right fixture. Invite coaches and helpers by email or WhatsApp, and give each one access to their own team only.
GPS data
On the roadmapFor clubs already using GPS vests, we're planning to bring session data from any provider in against the same players and fixtures, so physical numbers sit alongside your Pitchside tags in one match report.
Video tagging
On the roadmapFor clubs that record their games, we're exploring tagging on top of existing footage and clip reels per player.
If it needs a training session, it's too complicated. Coaches and club volunteers should get it in one go.
No laptop, no camera and no second person. Pitchside needs nothing but a phone, and it keeps working when the signal drops.
Parents give or decline consent through one link in the team's WhatsApp group, and can withdraw at any time. Player figures are for staff only, and share cards and AI summaries never name a junior player.
FAQ
The basics
A match tool for grassroots football. One person tags the game live on a phone from the touchline, the rest of the team can follow it live on their own phones, and the match report is ready at full time.
Coaches, managers and club volunteers at grassroots and amateur clubs who want more than a scoreline from their matches, from underage teams to senior sides.
Yes. Anyone on the team can open the live view on their own phone: the score and scorers, the clock, shots, corners and free kicks, a shot map and the timeline, updating a second or two after each tag. It's read-only, so nothing can be changed by mistake.
No. Everything is tagged live. If your club already films matches, you can use the video afterwards to check and correct your tags.
Yes. The buttons are big and you only see the ones your team tracks, so the key numbers are there without a second person. Anything logged in a rush can be fixed after the match.
Tags are kept on the tagger's phone and send when the signal comes back. Anyone following live catches up as soon as they arrive.
PitchVue runs in your phone's browser and installs to your home screen in a couple of taps, so there's nothing to find in an app store and every update reaches you straight away.
Junior teams need a parent's or guardian's consent before a player's match stats are recorded. The coach posts one consent link in the parents' WhatsApp group, and each parent picks their child, reads what is recorded and who sees it, and gives or declines consent. No account needed, and consent can be withdrawn at any time. Player figures are for coaches and club staff only, players without consent show by shirt number, and share cards and AI summaries never name a junior player. Clubs stay in control of their players' data.
The numbers
You choose. Each team picks a preset: Scorers (goals, assists and minutes), Simple (adds shots, corners, free kicks and cards), Standard (everything except xG) or Full. Full covers goals and assists, shots on and off target and blocked, chances, corners, free kicks, goal kicks, press wins, lost balls, dribbles, cards, subs, minutes, possession and xG, with a shot map for every match.
No. Young teams can track just scorers, or a handful of buttons, and switch on Hide the score. The app then shows "Home v Away" with no half-time score and no opposition goals, and the report fits on one page.
Every shot is tapped onto a pitch map with its body part and situation. A model trained on about 45,000 professional shots from the Wyscout public dataset (Pappalardo et al., 2019, CC BY 4.0) then scores how likely it was to go in.
On shots tagged with full detail it lands close to professional data providers. The biggest differences come from clear-cut chances, so you can add the chance type or correct a shot from video after the match.
As share of in-play time. A clock follows the ball as you tag events or tap a team or ball-out button, and dead-ball time doesn't count.
Yes. The season dashboard adds up every match you tag: results and form, shots and xG for and against, when goals come, and each player's minutes, goals and assists. It's worked out from the same tags as the match reports, so the two always agree.
PitchVue is free during early access this season. We'll set pricing with input from the clubs testing it, and early-access clubs will hear first.
Register your club below. During the pilot we set each club up ourselves: your club and its teams are created for you, then your club contact and coaches get their invites by email and WhatsApp.
